| Note | Although the 1840 census shows four girls born before 1840, the name of the fourth was unknown since she does not appear on the 1850 census. However, a recent microfilming of the church records of Midway Macedonia Bapist Church in Sand Hill GA hasrevealed new information. An undated list of various members prefaces the minutes, and at the top of the G list is "Lovicy C. Garst" who must be the daughter of Christopher Garst and Sarah Coltharp. Sarah Garst is the second name on the list. Thusfar, no other information on Lovicy has developed. She may have died before the 1850 census or she may have married. There are no notes beside her name in Macedonia records to indicate that she was deceased--or married. |
