Note | FATHER: 117; MOTHER: 117t Posted on Garst-L@Roostsweb.com 2 Feb 2003 by Alexa, rsy5@juno.com "There is an Eve Garst buried in the Shuee Cemetery, Greencastle, Putnam Co., IN with husband, Daniel Shuee. According to the records there, she would have been born 16 OCT 1806 and died 17 FEB 1849. Daniel Shuee would have been born in MAR 1804 and died 30 JUL1868. They were both born in Virginia. They had 12 children." Interesting that she was included in Jacob Garst's will of March 1850. Obviously the news of her death had not yet reached him. "I Give and Bequith to my Son Nicholas Garsts Heirs two Hundred Dollars which is to be Divided Between his three children equal in full for which is their part of my Esstate in full. I will nothing to my son Christian Garst at preasant he has Drawen four hundred & fifty Dollars which is towards his portion of My Esstate I give & Bequeth to my Daughter Eve Shewey two hundred & Sixty two Dollars to make her Even with the Rest that Got five hundred Dollars Each." It may be that he had simply lost touch with some of his children. It also appears that daughter Christine, who married Henry Akers, died before Jacob made out his will. (notes by Karen Dale) |
