Note

FATHER: 117; MOTHER: 117s

This child is listed as the last child of Jacob and Anna in Garstfamily.com files. However, If Easter [Esther?] existed, she was not the youngest child. Christopher, born May 1805, would have been the last child of Anna Frantz, since she died before Dec 1805 when Jacob married Eve Minter. No evidence of an Easter or Esther Garst has surfaced (Aug 2004). It may be that "Easter" was not a child of Jacob's, but rather his ward and "daughter-in-law" (i.e. stepdaughter, daughter of Magdalena and John Hinkle) Estha (Esther). " Early Marriages, Wills, and Some Revolutionary War Records, Botetourt County, Virginia" contains a marriage entry that reads: "Bartlett, John, and Estha Hinkle, ward and daughter-in-law of Jacob Garst-- April 18, 1813" (p. 5).

If Jacob and his first wife did have a child named Easter/Esther, she was probably born between Nicholas (1801) and Christopher (1805). (Notes by Karen Dale)
