"Petition of Frederick Featherhoff, feofee of Peter Gerst, eldest son of Dewalt Gerst late of Heidelberg Township. Dewalt Gerst died intestate owning two tracks of land adjoining Peter Kenny and Nicholas Weirick containing in all 80 acres, prays for valuation and partition. "Partition and valuation of the real estate of Dewalt Gerst of Heidelberg Twp., by Michael Straw, John Weiter, Jacob Keller, Jacob Fisher, Christian Miller, John Sally, John Gluck, Peter Kenny, and Michael Herner; two tracks of land in said Twp., containing 80 acres; valued at L 3-18-0 per acre. Frederick Feather fauff feofee of Peter Gerst eldest son of the said deceased prays to take the tracks. Ibed page 413 "Existing records indicate that Peter Gerst was baptized on 20 Oct 1772, Barbara Gerst on 15 Feb 1767, Maria Elizabeth Gerst on 29 May 1768, and Magdalena Gerst on 18 Mar 1770. "Chancery Court Records, Montgomery Co., OH abstract for July term, 1828: Estate of Henry Zehring, born 26 May 1776, died Dec 1821. His will written on 27 Oct 1821: "20 Jul 1816, bought 200 acres from Charles and Mary Hary. Sold 29.55 acres to John Fox in north-west corner, leaving 172 acres. A plat of 75 acres taken off south end of west half of section 23, township 2, range 5, of the estate of John Henry Zehring, Jacob Gebhart acting as administrator. "John Henry died leaving a widow Fanny and seven children, with one child born after his death. Before moving to Ohio, he lived in Lebanon Co., PA and was appointed guardian of the following three children (who were heirs of his late wife Hannah) in the year 1816; Henry Zehring Samuel Zehring Catherine Zehring. "His other children are; Maria Zehring Elizabeth Zehring David Zehring Susannah Zehring Hanna Zehring (born after his death)." Dewalt Garst served in Capt. John Gossert's Company, First Class, 8th Co., Second Battalion, Lancaster Co., PA, probably Bethel Twp. Reference PA Archives, 5th Series, Vol. 7, page 162.
