Note	Frederick Garst II lived for a time in the old Garst Fort after his father had moved to Mason's Creek. Sometime around 1838 or 1840, he moved to the state of Indiana, but eventually moved back east to Tennessee where he died. According to the original Garst Book, the above information was obtained from the family Bible of Frederick Garst II. This bible was passed down through the family of his son David, to Hiram, to Herman S. Garst who at that time lived in Okmulgee, OK. It was then purchased by William Tell Garst of Kansas City, MO, author of the original Garst Book. The Bible is described as 10x13x3 inches, bound with wooden, leather covered back, and is printed entirely in German. It contains the old and new testaments, and the 14 apocryphal books. The title page states that the book is according to the German translation of "Dr. Martin Luters," that it is the first edition "Die erste Unslage," and the date, 1813. There follows a letter to the publisher's "German Brethren," and at the bottom is the name, Frederich Goeb, and the place and date: Somerset, Penn., June 26, 1813. The book entitled, "Early Marriages, Wills, and Some Revolutionary War Records, Botetourt County, Virginia" provides the marriage record of Frederick Garst II and Susannah Eller. It reads: Gharst, Frederick, Jr., and Lunnar Eller, dau. Jacob Eller-- Dec. 29, 1809. Information provided by Frederick Solomon Garst indicates that Frederick II moved with his family to Limestone, Tennessee in 1832. After his death, his widow, Sarah, being much younger, married Rev.  married Christina (Garst) Houtz.
